stuart sutcliffe

It just so happens that I have recently rediscovered my fascination with Stu Sutcliffe. A few years ago I read a very long book about the Beatles and found the fifth Beatle infinitely interesting. He is such a fascinating character. He was an artist, a musician, a lover; he was amazing. He was the original Beatles bass player, he came up with the name for the group along with John Lennon, and he was the first to have the signature Beatles hair cut. So much of what we think of the Beatles now can be attributed to Stu Sutcliffe. I have to say that I think that he would ideally be my favorite Beatle.
here are some of his paintings:

Fred Astaire

I know that I have not posted anything new recently. I have been working on several different things and wanted to wait until I had finished them. Well I still haven't finished my James Dean portrait, but I am really really close. I did however finish this smaller portrait of Fred Astaire.
